To host military interns, your agency must be a DoD Authorized SkillBridge Provider. This requires a formal application and a robust training plan that meets the requirements of DoD Instruction (DoDI) 1322.29. Police Hiring Solutions (PHS) manages this entire approval lifecycle for you.
SkillBridge internships are generally 90-120 days. You must design a curriculum that provides meaningful professional development and job-skills training. Per DoD program guidelines, the internship must not displace regular employees and must focus on the Service member’s transition success.
